The Contract is the first phase of the Western Gateway development Wrexham County Borough Council is proposing to respond to the impact of climate change by promoting a highly sustainable development as the latest phase of Wrexham Technology Park. The development will be on Council-owned land bounded by the A483(T) Wrexham Bypass to the west, A525 (Ruthin Road) to the south, a dismantled railway line to the north and Croesnewydd Road to the east.The project consists of highway improvements along part of Croesnewydd Road and includes:(i) Demolition of the existing railway bridge and river Gwenfro culvert;(ii) Re-alignment both vertically and horizontally of approximately 300 metres of the existing highway to create an at-grade junction to serve the Wrexham Maelor Hosiptal overspill car park (situated on the dismantled railway) and proposed spine road through the development;(iii) Provision of pedestrian and cycling facilities;(iv) Construction of a new culverted crossing of the river Gwenfro;(v) Associated drainage and street lighting works;(vi) Associated ecological mitigation works.
