Wheels to Work (CPU ref 924)
Descriptions
Wheels to Work is a moped leasing scheme aimed at helping young people overcome a travel barrier to training or work where no public transport exist or services do not run outside of 'office hours'. It will consist of 15 mopeds purchased and leased for 6 month periods (or per 12 month lease period where the young person is undertaking an apprenticeship) to young people currently not in education, employment or training, or at risk of dropping out of learning due to transport difficulties. The aim of the project is to enable 15-30 beneficiaries to achieve economically viable and sustainable transport into work or training events over the course of the one year contract. This would be a trial in the South & Vale districts with a view to developing it into a social enterprise in future years. This scheme would bring job seekers, currently limited by lack of access to transport in rural areas, into employment. Please note that the return date for tender submissions is 12.00 noon Monday 13 April 2015. The maximum funding available for this scheme is £80,350 exclusive of VAT.
