Whole class, small group and individual instrumental and vocal tuition on behalf of Accent Music Education Hub (Warrington and Halton). Accent Music Education Hub Halton is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for appropriately qualified providers to deliver a service that will support the achievement of Warrington and Halton children in order to enable young people from all backgrounds to have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, to make music with others, to learn to sing and to have the opportunity to progress to the next level of excellence. The music education hub was formed in September 2011 and provides services and support to ensure musical outcomes for young children through an inclusive approach to tuition regardless of background or family circumstances. The provider will assist the Hub in the delivery of the following 4 core roles: · Ensure that every child aged 5 to 18 has the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument (other than voice) through whole-class ensemble teaching programmes for ideally a year (but for a minimum of a term) of weekly tuition on the same instrument. · Provide opportunities to play in ensembles and to perform from an early stage. · Ensure that clear progression routes are available and affordable to all young people. · Develop a singing strategy to ensure that every pupil sings regularly and that choirs and other vocal ensembles are available in the area. The music education hub works with a number of external partners in order to deliver a high quality service. There will be an expectation that the successful provider will also work closely with these partners in order to realise the best music education outcomes for children and young people. The purpose of this contract is to provide services to schools relating to the provision of whole class, small group and individual tuition to pupils in Warrington and Halton from Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 5 in the following areas: · Strings · Woodwind · Brass · Percussion · Samba and African Drumming · Guitar · Singing · Early Years music making In addition the provider is required to provide and maintain an online data base that has the facility to report on pupil engagement, attainment (ABRSM / Trinity graded examinations) and progression which can be accessed by all tutors and managers associated with Hub outcomes. The data base will also need to report on student involvement in school based and external ensembles. The provider is also required to manage the progression and ensembles strands of Hub delivery. This will be for 2 days / week. The service has an indicative budget of £200,000 per annum.
