Whole System Energy Model for Scotland.
Descriptions
The Office of the Chief Economic Adviser (OCEA) of the Scottish Government (SG) wishes to commission a model of the energy system in Scotland, including all processes or investments carrying the potential to impact upon the level of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions or removals in Scotland. The model will simulate investment decisions across the Scottish energy system from the year 2010 out to 2050 and to output (as a minimum): commodity prices, investment costs, CO2 and all GHG emissions; energy-flows and capacities. The model will be technologically-rich and flexible; capable of simulating the effect of current and future policy decisions. The model will consider the implications of future changes in energy demand and the security of energy supply. The model and any scenarios supplied with it will be robust; underpinned by research evidence and capable of standing up to challenge from the academic community and other stakeholders.
