Wi-Fi on Metrolink Trams and Metroshuttle Buses.
Descriptions
There are two Lots in this programme:Lot 1.The supplied solution shall enable any suitably equipped device, inside a tram in which the solution is operational, to connect to the Internet using a Wi-Fi connection.The full scope of Lot One is for a Wi-Fi solution in accordance with the requirements, for:104 trams, which includes 94 trams to be in service before the end of March 2015, and an additional 10 trams contracted for delivery into operational service between April and October 2015; and additional trams, as may be required in future.The scope includes design, supply, installation, commissioning, testing, defined maintenance and customer support services, training, documentation and reporting as set out in the tender documentation.Lot 1 Tenderers shall offer installation services as part of their response, but TfGM reserves the right to contract an alternative trusted and approved supplier for installation services.Lot 1 Tenderers shall offer mobile data connectivity as part of their response, but TfGM reserves the right to contract an alternative supplier or suppliers for mobile data connectivity.Lot 2.The supplied solution shall enable any suitably equipped device, inside a Metroshuttle bus in which the solution is operational, to connect to the Internet using a Wi-Fi connection.The scope of Lot Two is for a Wi-Fi solution in accordance with the requirements, for 20 Metroshuttle buses operating in Manchester City Centre, with provision for future buses if required.The scope includes design, supply, installation, commissioning, testing, defined maintenance and customer support services, training, documentation and reporting as set out in the tender documentation.Lot 2 Tenderers shall offer installation services as part of their response, but TfGM reserves the right to contract an alternative trusted and approved supplier for installation services.Lot 2 Tenderers shall offer mobile data connectivity as part of their response, but TfGM reserves the right to contract an alternative supplier or suppliers for mobile data connectivity.The contract(s) are being let by Transport for Greater Manchester but may also be used by members and associate members of pteg.Ltd and Passenger Transport Executives (PTE) including South Yorkshire PTE; West Yorkshire PTE; Tyne and Wear PTE; West Midlands PTE; Merseyside PTE; Strathclyde Partership for Transport (SPT); Transport for London: and any of their successor organisations.
