Westmorland and Furness Council (the Council) is seeking to appoint a Contractor to carry out the refit of the Windermere Ferry "Mallard". Mallard is a cable ferry that carries vehicles and passengers across Lake Windermere from Bowness on the east side to Far Sawry on the west side of the lake. Mallard is due for her MCA 5-year out of water survey in April 2024, and the Council seeks to appoint a suitably experienced and capable contractor (the Contractor) to carry out the refit work to support her recertification.r r Suppliers wishing to express an interest and obtain access to the tender documents should go to www.the-chest.org.uk and click on current opportunities from the navigation area on the left of the screen.
