All organisations wanting to deliver in the Yo! Active programme must demonstrate robust arrangements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. Providers are required to have comprehensive health and safety policies, including emergency procedures and up-to-date risk assessments for each activity and venue. Safeguarding is paramount: all staff must hold enhanced DBS checks, and each organisation must appoint a named safeguarding lead. Providers must also have safeguarding policies that reflect best practice and promote the welfare of participants. In addition, both the lead organisation and any subcontractors must hold appropriate public liability and professional indemnity insurance to cover all aspects of activity delivery. These measures are essential to ensure a safe, inclusive, and accountable environment for all service users.
