Wakefield Council invites detailed tenders for the provision of Workwear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) via a framework agreement.The Council is seeking to appoint one organisation who is reliable, can supply high quality items of workwear and PPE to all Council departments, can provide a high level of customer service and provide assistance to ensure that the brand guidelines for all corporate uniforms are adhered to by all Council departments.The Councils corporate uniform colour for manual workers is purple (similar to pantone 2685), the supplier appointed to deliver this contract must be able to provide high quality workwear (sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweaters and fleeces) in purple. It is therefore a mandatory requirement that the supplier appointed to deliver this contract can supply garments in purple.It is envisaged that the framework agreement will commence on 1.6.2014 and will be put in place for 3 years with the option to extend by a further year, the extension will be offered at the discretion of Wakefield Council.The concluded contract will be open for use by the 22 local authorities within the Yorkshire and Humber region.The estimated level of spend of GBP 1 million is based on Wakefield Council use only over the life of the agreement, if additonal Local Authorities from within the Yorkshire and Humber region choose to access the agreement, the level of spend will increase accordingly.The tender documents are available for suppliers to download from the YORtender system (www.yortender.co.uk) using reference YORE-9DVJYN.
