World Heritage Site Tourism project – strand 3 Digital Tourist Information Kiosks

Descriptions

Wrexham County Borough Council wishes to commission the installation of touch-screen digital information kiosks at key locations along the World Heritage Site, as well as other locations. This will provide highly visual information points, enhancing their experience and spreading the wealth created by visitors to the World Heritage site by pointing them in the direction of other attractions, services and facilities. The aim is to demonstrate the variety of tourism provision across Wrexham County Borough and how visitors can access it. Local information such as attractions, accommodation, events and activities will be displayed, as well as the option to look up public transport routes etc.It is anticipated the kiosks will be placed inside or outside key locations across the country borough, with two situated along the World Heritage Site itself. The locations will be identified by the project officer at Wrexham County Borough Council, but there may be the need for input from the chosen contractor – particularly when it comes to understanding whether preferred locations are actually feasible from a technical perspective (e.g. broadband access, power supply etc).
