Wrexham Townscape Heritage Scheme is a five year programme looking to restore and conserve many of Wrexham’s historically important buildings within Wrexham Town Centre Conservation Area, making them attractive for local businesses and individuals.Fundamental to the success of the programme will be the upskilling of the workforce in Traditional Building Skills, providing a legacy of construction workers with the ability to work in this sector.Wrexham CBC intends to establish a ‘Dynamic Purchasing System’ (DPS), i.e. an open access framework, for companies of various sizes to have the opportunity expand their experience and work on historic buildings. The intention is to:Encourage new companies into this work area;Provide opportunities for training and developing skills in traditional building techniques;Providing help with tenderingContractors, architects, surveyors and agents interested in tendering for works under the Wrexham Townscape Heritage Scheme, are invited to attend ‘Meet the buyer events’ scheduled for Wednesday 27th November and Thursday 28th November 2019. The events will enable you to find out more about what will be expected in the delivery of the townscape heritage scheme.Wednesday 27th November - 3:30pm - 8:00pm - Building tradesThursday 28th November 2019 - 3:30pm - 8:00pm - Architectural/surveying servicesBoth events will be held at the Memorial Hall, Bodhyfryd, Wrexham LL12 7AG.
