The University of Sheffield has tendered on behalf of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering for an inverter system as part of an innovative, large scale research project of a grid connected energy storage system (ESS). This tender is for a single system comprising two inverters (approx 2MVA and approx 100kVA) and two associated transformers capable of connecting the inverters to 11kV feeds. The approx 2MVA inverter connects between an approx 2MW ESS to an 11kV feed. The smaller approx 100kVA inverter connects an experimental DC/DC converter to an 11kV feed. The tender is for the supply, installation and commissioning of the system, with associated warranty or service provision for 3 years.This tender has been awarded and no further expressions of interest will be accepted.
