Young People National Support Project

Descriptions

The National Support Programme for Young People will support the Welsh Assembly Governments aims to raise the basic skills levels of young people aged 11-19 who have low levels of basic skills and are disengaged or at risk of disengagement from education. The project will run for 3 consecutive years. The objectives of this contract are to:a) Attract young people, specifically those with poor levels of basic skills, back into learning programmes which will help develop their literacy and numeracy skillsb) Encourage the development of flexible, tailored programmes which will motivate and engage those young people and help raise their attainmentc) Investigate and continue to develop innovative approaches to engage this target groupd) Work with Careers Wales, Further Education Colleges and Training Providers to help develop individualised progression opportunities with appropriate personal support structurese) Ensure that work undertaken by the National Development Programme supports and compliments other Welsh Assembly funded projects wherever appropriatef) Ensure that all work with providers reaches the standard required for achievement and/or maintenance of the Basic Skills Quality StandardThe Authority reserves the right to consider variant bids.The Authority reserves the right to split the requirement into lots.If you require documentation in an alternative format, please contact the named contact point in this document who will be able to provide a more suitable format.
