Conwy County Borough Council invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified companies for the design and build of a new special educational needs school to replace the existing school on the site.The works include the demolition of the existing school, the construction of the new school and a detached technology unit to achieve BREEAM Excellent standard, the refurbishment of an existing pupil residential unit for the school and associated landscaping and external works.The new school building will accommodate pupils in the 4 to 19 age range and will include the full range of educational facilities including a sports hall and a hydrotherapy pool.It is very important that contractors who express interest in this project have a proven track record of delivering school projects successfully. They will also need to demonstrate their ability to work on 'live' educational sites because the existing school buildings need to remain operational throughout the construction phase.
