Louth County Council & Creative Ireland Louth invites applications from Artists, or an Artist Collective for an ‘Artist in the Community Project’ under the Louth Brigid 1500 programme. Brigid1500 is a programme of events to celebrate and commemorate St. Brigid, the woman, the life and the legacy. The Brigid1500 programme will champion all that is associated with St.Brigid including faith & spirituality, biodiversity & sustainability, arts & culture and social justice and education. The Project is designed to:•Promote the story and heritage of St Brigid through the community groups and schools. •Provide community groups and schools with an opportunity to meet and work with the artist(s) throughout the course of the 12 months and develop a series of art works around the theme of St. Brigid and the Brigid1500 celebrations. •The collection of art produced will be displayed at an exhibition from January to February 2024 as part of the Brigid1500 celebrations.•This residency will require flexible working hours, allowing time for the artist(s) own work plus time for engagement and interaction with the various groups. •Work with the groups will take place in person. •It is expected that at approx 15 pieces of art of varying size will be produced and around 10 community groups and schools will be involved in the project.
