RCT Council are currently preparing a tender to procure a suitably qualified contractor to lead the construction of a new long road/highways scheme circa £10-15m.The A4119 Dualling is a 1.3km long road scheme upgrading the existing single carriageway road to a dual carriageway as well installing multiple structures.In advance of the procurement and given the current construction market conditions due to Brexit and Covid-19, RCT council are seeking to ascertain from Contractors, what materials they are experiencing price fluctuations and time delays at present and to identify any they foresee in the next 6-9 months that would affect a fixed price bid.As part of this market engagement exercise RCT would also like to canvass views from the Contractors on any processes/mechanisms they believe would assist in mitigating this risk.
