This project will subject the main Welsh fisheries within Welsh waters out to 12nm to a MSC pre-assessment, the first stage, of a full assessment which will review targated fisheriesin the context of the MSC’s principles and criteria of sustainable fishing, identify fisheries likely to comply with the MSC principles and criteria for ‘well managed fisheries’ and identify the main issues likely to prevent a fishery achieving MSC certification.
