Caerphilly CBC has appointed an experienced Contractor to undertake the A468/A469 Pwllypant Roundabout Improvement scheme. The scheme incorporates the following:a)Implementation of full time, partial signalisation to the roundabout.b)Widening of approach lanes to the roundabout to include; A469 from Llanbradach – additional filter lane and extension to existing filter lanes, East Bound lane of A468/A469 dualled approach to roundabout and dualled exit from roundabout, Pontygwindy Road - additional filter lane and extension in length to existing filters, A468 Bedwas Arm - dualled approach and exit to roundaboutc)On- line replacement of Welsh Water sewer and highway surface drainage.d)Diversion of utilities apparatus equipment (BT, WPD, WWU)e)Construction of retaining walls on A469 Llanbradach arm and A468 Bedwas Arm.f)Full carriageway reconstruction on major arms.g)Replacement of existing street lighting and traffic signs.h)New footway linking the existing pedestrian over bridge on the A468/A469 to the footway on Pontygwindy Road.The duration of the contract will be for 52 weeks and is scheduled to commence early October 2017.
