Automatic Opening Vents Installation Contracts

Descriptions

FirstPort are looking to procure a number of Contractors across the country to support them in delivering a programme of upgrade works in relation to existing Automatic Opening Ventilation (AOV) systems to circa 560 schemes. The works to each scheme are likely to fall into one of three options, which are set out below: Option 1: Digital Fire Panels which can be reprogrammed to operate the AOV's. The Contractor would be required to attend site or remotely sign in to the system. The Windows & Window vents will be required to be upgraded to the industry standards. Option 2: Fire System which have less than a 5 year life cycle are to be replaced with a new digital system that is to be installed to control AOV & AOV window vents. The Windows & Window vents will be required to be upgraded to the industry standards. Option 3: Fire Systems which have more than a 5 year life cycle which cannot not be reprogrammed to operate the AOV or have a converter installed will require a Stand Alone AOV system. The Windows & Window vents will be required to be upgraded to the industry standards. It is envisaged that the majority of the schemes will either fall into Option 2 or 3, but there will also be a reasonable number that fall into option 1. At this moment in time, FirstPort are looking to divide the Contract up into 8 regional Lots, which are set out below, these are however subject to change: 1. Scotland - 44 Schemes 2. The North, North Wales and South Scotland - 80 Schemes 3. The Midlands and Central Wales - 51 Schemes 4. North London, including Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and also East Anglia - 115 Schemes 5. South London, including Surrey, Kent and Sussex - 110 Schemes 6. The South (Central), including Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire and Dorset - 81 Schemes 7. South Wales and Gloucestershire - 29 Schemes 8. The South West that includes Somerset, Devon and Cornwall - 41 Schemes FirstPort have not yet decided how many Lots a tenderer would be permitted to win, but they would not want one or tenderer's to win all the regional Lots. The purpose of this Prior Information Notice is to do five things: 1. Provide early warning of the pending opportunity 2. Seek to understand how many Contractors would be interested in tendering for the works. 3. Seek to understand what Lots tenderers would be interested applying for. 4. Seek the markets opinion on how many Lots they would like to be able to win. 5. Understand the markets thoughts with regard to the way the lots have been set up. PLEASE CAN YOU COMPLETE THE QUESTIONNAIRE AS SET OUT UNDER THE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SECTION OF THIS NOTICE.
