Descriptions
The BBC requires Newsroom Computer System software (and associated ancillary services) to support its 11 000+ users in the following main functional areas:— Production and playout of running orders and scripts;— Operational messaging;— Search;— Wires and social media feeds;— Contacts storage and management;— Story shelf ways of working.The successful economic operator will in addition be required to provide ancillary support services and, for a limited time, implementation and transition services.The BBC intends to play a significant role in the provision of integration and transition services itself, reflecting the unique and complex nature of the BBC's technical environment. For this reason, once the implementation is complete and the transition substantially underway, it is not anticipated that further significant integration or transition services will be required from the successful economic operator or consortia of economic operators.
