BIM wishes to invite tenders for the provision of Seaweed Development Services.The primary purpose of this tender is the management of a Seaweed Development Programme of work as determined by BIM. This includes the provision of expert and experienced key personnel (evidenced by way of submitted Curricula Vitae) to carry out a challenging and innovative workload including manipulation of red weeds in the licensed hatchery, and the production of brown weed (Alaria esculenta, Saccharina latissima, others as required) seeded collector string for supply to licenced on-growers for growth trials. This work programme builds on work undertaken by BIM over previous years, with a new focus on assessing the feasibility and culture techniques for the more valuable red weeds (Palmaria palmata, Porphyra umbilicalis, others as required). The contractor will also be required to carry out industry training and webinars in hatchery techniques for brown and red weeds.
