Central CTG system

Descriptions

NNUH are interested in central CTG monitoring systems

Engagement

Request for Expressions of Interest for a central CTG Monitoring Solution Background Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) are seeking expressions of interest from suppliers able to provide a Central Cardiotocography (CTG) system. At present the project team are interested to understand what options and technologies are available in the market place in order to inform decision making. NNUH are under very tight financial control at present, and there is a realistic possibility that finance may not be approved for this project to proceed. Summary Specification for CTG System Implementation 1. Beds and Areas o 14 Delivery Suite beds (D/S), 4 MMAU beds, and up to 20 antenatal beds.  14 beds on Cley Obs (with occasional overspill of 1 bay on Blakeney, totaling 6 beds). o CTG Monitors:  14 monitors for D/S  4 monitors for MMAU  10 monitors for antenatal care. 2. Nursing/Viewing Stations o 4 nursing/viewing stations:  D/S  MMAU  Cley Obs  Blakeney. 3. CTG Requirements o The exact number of new/additional CTGs needed is yet to be determined, as the condition of current machines is uncertain. 4. Current CTG Equipment o Current mix of Huntleigh and Philips CTG machines. o Goal: Transition to using one system. 5. Installation Timeline o Suggested installation: April/May 2026. o Installation should ideally occur in this timeframe to avoid disruptions. 6. Room Availability for Works o Rooms/areas will be made available for works in a rolling pattern, with different rooms shut at different times as done with previous remedial works. 7. Training Requirements o Training will be organized in a "train the trainer" style. o Training focus: Connection of the CTG machine to the central storage/viewing system (CTG interpretation remains unchanged). 8. Ongoing Support o Expect significant technical support in the first 6 months to ensure smooth system operation. o After initial phase, ongoing technical support for troubleshooting as needed, until integration with the newly built EPR system. 9. Integration with Trust IT Systems o Short-Term: The CTG system will operate standalone. It will have centralized electronic viewing and storage with single sign-on. o Long-Term: The CTG system should integrate with the future maternity EPR system. Ideally, this would allow live and stored CTGs to be accessed within the new EPR system, either stored within the EPR or via a linked system. 10. Additional Considerations • Further points and details will be considered as the project progresses. Instructions for response If your organisation is able to provide a solution; please e-mail sam.cooper@nnuh.nhs.uk with details: 1. Confirming that solution offered can meet the requirements above 2. Overview of the features and benefits of solutions available 3. Indicative costs to implement to the above requirements 4. Whether solution is available to purchase through a purchasing framework Responses required by 9am on Tuesday 27th May .
