Cliff Stabilisation Works at Leas Coastal Park, Folkestone
Descriptions
Folkestone & Hythe District Council (F&HDC) wishes to select and appoint a suitable supplier for cliff stabilization works at the Leas Cliff Coastal Park in Folkestone and invites organisations to submit a tender to meet F&HDC's requirements. The specific requirements for the contract are detailed in the Geotechnical Design Report at Appendix A.
The work includes:
* Soil nailing and flexible netting and erosion control mattress to be installed.
* Passive (drape) netting of the slope below the soil nailed.
* reinstatement of the railing at the Madeira Walk and a timber fence at the slope toe to separate the playground from the cliff.
For clarity, the cliff in question is inland. i.e. not coastal defense works.
The contract is anticipated to start January 2026 and expected to continue for a period of 8 weeks, unless an extension of time (only) arises.
