Puffin Produce Ltd is Wales’ largest premier Potato and Vegetable packing firm. Based in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and established in 1995 the business is wholly owned by the farmers and growers who supply them. The company has grown year on year over the last five years.Puffin Produce Ltd’s growth has been built on proactive engagement with the major retailers and their ability to secure contracts with Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S. In order to maintain supply contracts with these leading retailers, Puffin Produce has been at the forefront of continuous development that includes expansion of its facilities and range to motivate increased sales and product marketability.Puffin Produce plan further investment increasing scale, efficiency and infrastructure of the current potato operation.This invitation to tender is aligned to securing quotations from suppliers of steel frame buildings and associated roofing and cladding necessary to facilitate the construction of a second cold storage facility in close proximity to the first cold storage building in this current phase of development that was constructed in 2016 at Puffin Produce Ltd’s site in Withybush, Haverfordwest. This project is supported with European Union funding secured through Welsh Government’s Food Business Investment Scheme. In so doing, Puffin Produce Ltd have a requirement to adhere to EC Procurement Directives in testing the market and demonstrating value for money.The development project seeks competent suppliers to provide:Steel Portal Frame-Please refer to supporting Engineering and Design drawingsCladding:-The cladding works are detailed below:--Roof – 100mm composite such as Kingspan KS1000RW, Goosewing Grey-Internal Ceiling – single skin lining panel (white) with 100mm glassfibre above-Side Cladding – Same as roof but with two end bays clad down to 3.7m below eaves-Dividing walls internally – Kingspan KS1000RW each side of columns to form end wall between bays 3&4; Kingspan 150mm cold store panels to divide bays 1&2 and 2&3.-Gutters – plastisol coated steel-Downpipes – 150 square plastisol coated steelContract Conditions:Liquidated Damages -£2,000 per week or part thereofRectification Period-6 MonthsRetention Percentage-3%Contractor’s Insurance Cover-£5,000,000Insurance Liability of Employer-£10,000,000Insurance of Works-Employer InsuresContract Period-Contractor to indicate within TenderTenders to be submitted via email to russell@puffinproduce.com
