This opportunity is being advertised on behalf of the Humber Bridge Board and the contract will be with the Humber Bridge Board. The Humber Bridge, is the world’s fifth longest main span suspension bridge. It is located to the West of Kingston-Upon-Hull in East Yorkshire and connects the North and South banks of the Humber estuary, carrying around six million vehicles per year.The bridge is inspected and maintained by the Humber Bridge Board (HBB) with support from external consultants as required. As part of the on-going inspection and maintenance of the bridge, an internal inspection of the main suspension cables in accordance with current guidance is now required. The objective of the consultant commission is to act as Technical Advisor to HBB on the design of the next internal inspection and as Independent Checker on the inspection, reporting and load assessment that will be carried out.
