Contract for Delivery of Pathway Development Centres to Stockton Key Stage 4 Pupils
Descriptions
A Pathway Development Centre is a dedicated environment within an inclusive school where those who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion, are supported to have their needs identified, undergoing a 12 week assessment process, supported by a range of professionals to ensure that they are able to develop the skills required to return to mainstream school with appropriate support and guidance. Owing to the increase and demands on placements for children who have been Permanently excluded or risk of Permanent Exclusion there was the necessity to review and analyse the current provision available for these children. From September 2022, The Local Authority propose to procure and develop Pathway Development Centres for 25 Key Stage 4 students. These students may remain on their mainstream school roll or may be registered with the school who is providing the education. The providers will be registered for KS4 provision, they will not be mainstream schools. The Local Authority proposes that there will be 25 places for the most difficult to engage children. These can be from one or more providers. They will work in partnership with Local Authority to support reengagement and identify the support and provision required to successfully transition to post 16 education or training. Providers need to have provision that can be accessed in a road journey of no more than one hour from the centre of Stockton Borough
