Contract for Restoration of Mewslade Coastal Wall – Phase 2

Descriptions

The work on the restoration of Mewslade wall has been split into two phases concerning upper and lower sections of the valley wall, with the split of the sections being marked by a kissing gate that forms the junction with the Wales Coast Path. Phase 1 work is underway on the upper section higher up the valley and is being carried out by Gower waller, Andy Roberts.Phase 2, which this contract is for, will repair the lower section from the kissing gate down to an existing 4-bar metal stile built into the wall, a total of ~230m. As a gate separates the Phase 1 and Phase 2 sections, there will be no need for tying in with the top section that is currently being rebuilt.The work required on Phase 2 is varied; there are a couple of sections that require a rebuild, but other parts can be more simply repaired.
