Countesthorpe Cemetery - Re-instatement of Laid Down Memorials

Descriptions

Countesthorpe Parish Council is inviting tenders for NAMM/BRAMM registered Stonemasons to re-instate a number of memorials that have been laid down following a safety inspection carried out in November 2020. All memorials must be re-instated to comply with the NAMM Code of Working Practice BS8415. The works to re-instate the memorials should be limited to return the memorials to a safe condition only and not include aesthetic works. The number of memorials affected is between 100 and 120. Quotations should be provided for each stone as a number of memorial owners are making their own arrangements for their memorial to be re-instated. However, as it is expected that the Parish Council will not be able to contact the majority of memorial owners, it is not expected the quantity of plots will reduce to less than 100. It is intended for the works to be carried out over three tranches, however, the Parish Council will be awarding the work to one contractor throughout the period of works. It is strongly advised to undertake a site visit/survey before tenders are submitted. Tranche 1 - to be carried out during the current financial year. Tranche 2 - to be carried out during the early part of the financial year 1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022. Tranche 3 - to be carried out during the financial year 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2023. We request that written tender is returned by 4pm on Thursday 28th January 2021. Tenders are to be submitted in writing in a plain sealed envelope marked 'Confidential - Memorial Tender' addressed to the Parish Council Manager. The Parish Council is not obliged to accept part of or any tender or be liable for any costs associated with the preparation of such tenders. Any tenders received after 4pm on 28th January 2021 will not be considered. The Parish Council will give a written response to tenders on or before 13th February 2021. Canvassing of members or of any committee, directly or indirectly, for any contract with the Parish Council shall disqualify the contractor for such appointment. If an applicant for any appointment or contract with the council is to his/her knowledge related to any member of, or the holder of any office under the Parish Council, he/she and the person to whom he/she is related shall disclose the relationship in writing to the Parish Council Manager. A contractor who fails to do so shall be disqualified for such contract, and, if appointed, may be dismissed without notice. Any requests for further information are only to be submitted in writing to the Parish Council Manager. Any other requests will invalidate the tender. Contractor's Public Liability insurance is to be not less than £10,000,000.
