First Campus Reaching Wider exists to widen access to higher education by tackling barriers to entry, progression and success in higher education. We are a partnership programme between the four Higher Education Institutions in South East Wales (Cardiff University; Cardiff Metropolitan University; University of South Wales and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama). We are funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW).Our ambition is to be recognised for excellence and effectiveness in our widening access activities, committed, as an equal partner, to working in partnership with delivery partners, key stakeholders, the third sector and industry.We will achieve this through offering a suite of long-term, sustainable interventions to support attainment raising, increase awareness and provide support for progression to higher education and level 4 learning opportunities.We prioritise the following groups:1.Young people in the final years of primary school to Key Stage 4 and Adults over 21 with no level four qualifications residing in the bottom two quintiles of the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation (WIMD) for the SE Wales region.2.Care-experienced young people3.Carers in all age groupsThe First Campus project at the University of South Wales is looking for a suitably qualified animation, graphics and digital illustration specialist, either a sole trader or company, to create 5 short animation films in English and Welsh (2 for the FC Vulnerable Groups (VG) Strand and 3 for the FC Adult Strand) for multiuse as follows:1.The facilitation of an activity as part of a larger education programme2.To provide information, advice and guidance as part of an education workshop/programme3.For promotion post FC re-brand.Community Adult Learners will participate in the creation of the 3 Adult Strand Animations so applicants will also need to demonstrate competence in implementing and managing a series of animation workshops as part of a wider programme of Higher Education aspiration and awareness raising activity. You will be expected to work collaboratively with First Campus managers and officers in the Adult and VG Stands across the First Campus partner HEI’s (USW, CMET and CU). Your services will be engaged via the University of South Wales. It is anticipated the work will be undertaken in quarters 3 (Feb – April 2021) and quarters 4 (May – July 2021) of the First Campus annual reporting cycle.
