Deep Tube Upgrade Programme (DTUP) – Piccadilly Line Depots and Stabling

DTUP has procured a new fleet of trains for Piccadilly line. The introduction of the new fleet requires changes to the maintenance procedures and facilities. To facilitate the introduction of the new fleet, it is necessary to provide not only the stabling and sidings required for the new trains but also additional stabling capacity to enable migration to the new fleet.There are 3 sites on the Piccadilly line; Cockfosters depot, Northfields depot and South Harrow Sidings. The scope of Piccadilly line depots and stabling project is expected to include the following work packages:— A Design Management and Construction Management Organisation (DMCMO),— track works,— staff offices, welfare facilities, service plant rooms, stores, ancillary rooms,— workshop and maintenance facilities,— train and depot equipment,— enabling works,— logistics and site facilities,— power, M&E, telecomms,— landscape.There is a requirement for the first maintenance facilities to be operated by May 2023.
