Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, acting as lead authority on behalf of ‘Dyfodol Gwyrdd Glân’ meaning ‘Clean Green Future’ a partnership of Welsh Local Authorities in collaboration with the Welsh Government is seeking to develop and deliver an affordable sustainable solution for the long-term treatment/recycling of Absorbent Hygiene Product (AHP) waste (the Project). Aiming to deliver sustainable infrastructure provision and an economically and environmentally advantageous outcome for Wales as a whole.A contract will be procured for the Design, Development and Installation of Technology for a treatment/recycling solution for separately collected AHP waste from 17 Participating Authorities across Wales. The Contractor will also be required to provide ongoing technical and other support services.The current Participating Authorities are:1.Isle of Anglesey County Council2.Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council3.Bridgend County Borough Council4.Cardiff Council5.Carmarthenshire County Council6.Ceredigion County Council7.Conwy County Borough Council8.Denbighshire County Council9.Flintshire County Council10.Gwynedd Council11.Monmouthshire County Council12.Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council13.Newport City Council14.Pembrokeshire County Council15.Powys County Council16.Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council17.City and County of Swansea CouncilOne or more of the five Welsh local authorities, listed below, may join the Project in the future:1. Caerphilly County Borough Council2. Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council3. Torfaen County Borough Council4. Vale of Glamorgan Council5. Wrexham County Borough CouncilOnce installed, the facilities will be operated and maintained by Public Sector Organisations, with ongoing operational and maintenance support to be provided by the Design / Technology Contractor for a prescribed period.
