WMG is to create an Advanced Propulsion Research Laboratory (APRL) that will link people, research and world-leading infrastructure to create next generation technologies in the propulsion systems central to the future competitiveness of the automotive industry. It will research Internal Combustion Engines (fundamental study of combustion and fuels, enabling downsizing), Energy Storage & Energy Management, Electric Machines & Power Electronics and Lightweight Vehicle & Powertrain Structures (HVM Catapult theme at WMG requiring growth). This tender specifically concerns the APRL's engine, vehicle and e-motor test laboratory and the project scope (fit-out contract scope including fuelling system) necessary to support this.
