London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) is undertaking a Pre-Market Engagement exercise in advance of a forthcoming procurement for the delivery of comprehensive electrical works and associated services. The Council is seeking early input from the market to help inform the structure, scope, and approach of the proposed contract.
The scope of services may include, but is not limited to, electrical repairs and maintenance, servicing and testing of electrical systems, installation of electric hot water and electric heating systems, other electrical-related works to Council buildings.
The proposed contract will run for an initial 2-year term, with the option to extend for up to 2 additional years (1 year + 1 year).
This service is essential to ensure that the Council's buildings remain safe, compliant, and operational, supporting both frontline services to residents and the effective use of workspaces for staff.

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) Council is conducting market engagement to assess the availability, capability, and interest of potential providers ahead of a formal tender process for the procurement of a contractor for the Electrical MTC Contract. This engagement aims to construct a contract and specification that serves the Tower Hamlets residents, staff and building users in the best possible way. As part of this process, LBTH will explore: Challenges or constraints that may impact project service delivery, for example, supply chain issues. Your view on what works well with similar contracts What doesn't work well with similar contracts The deadline for expressing interest in this Market Engagement exercise is 17:00pm on Friday 18 July 2025. Interested parties will be invited to individual MS Teams meetings where they will meet with the Technical Services Team and a representative from the Procurement Team. Meetings will take place via MS Teams during w/c 21 July 2025. An alternative date may be made available if required. To participate in this Pre Market Engagement exercise, please register on the London Tenders Portal and express your interest on the project board (DN781083) by no later than 17:00pm on 18 July 2025. You will then be issued with an MS Teams invite with your timeslot. Once you express your interest you will have access to the Pre Market Engagement Brief document which contains more information about this engagement. Please note, this notice is not a call for competition or a commitment to procure. Participation in this market engagement will not prejudice future involvement in any subsequent procurement process and does not commit LBTH to running a competitive tender process in the future.
