Descriptions
Bexhill Library is located on a busy main street in the town. The library is on two levels and is a large open plan space, providing stock to browse and borrow, reading and study space and free public computers. We are looking for a design that creates more clearly defined 'zones' within the library and includes private areas for quiet study and reading. We would also like a focus on the design of the children's area. This area should draw in customers and feel inviting, exciting and comfortable. In this project we are redecorating the library and are looking to change the layout, upgrade the shelving and add new soft seating, furniture, display units and study spaces. The works will take place in September to November 2024, with furniture installation in November 2024. It is the intention that there will be partial closures during the refurbishment with a very short full closure for final furniture installation. The opening hours can be found on our website. Finalised plans will be required in May to accompany the redecoration tender.
