The Girdwood Infrastructure contact is being let by Central Procurement Directorate on behalf of the Department of Social Development in Northern Ireland. The project is for the provision of access infrastructure and site services for the redevelopment of Girdwood site. Girdwood is a brownfield site, approximately 6.5 hectares in area, located behind Crumlin Road Gaol/Mater Hospital in North Belfast. Currently there are proposals to provide social housing, a community hub building, sports pitch and indoor sports facility on the site.The project will provide the infrastructure to service the proposed developments and will include the detailed design and construction of the following works:— site clearance and earthworks (including disposal of surplus material off site)— retaining walls— approximately 810 m of access roads and foot-ways— car parks— cycle routes— foul and storm drainage— power, gas and water supplies— telecoms and security ducting and cabling— fencing and landscaping
