Growth Accelerator Model Agreement relating to the St James Quarter.
Descriptions
The St James Quarter has been identified by the City of Edinburgh Council (‘the Council’) as part of the ‘Edinburgh 12’ initiative as 1 of 12 strategically important ‘gap sites’ within Edinburgh. The Quarter occupies a strategic location within the City and its redevelopment is a unique opportunity to regenerate the wider area. The ‘Growth Accelerator Model’ (or ‘GAM’) has been developed by the Council to unlock the economic potential of the Quarter by providing a funding facility of 61 400 000 GBP to invest in enabling general infrastructure works. The programme of enabling works will include:a) Public realm and infrastructure improvements in the immediate area surrounding the St. James Centre;b) New public realm at Picardy Place;c) A 24 hour pedestrian route through the centre; andd) A new Energy Centre. This VEAT Notice indicates the Council's intention to enter into a contract for the delivery of the enabling works with the economic operator set out at V.3).
