Mayo County Council invites proposals from a suitably qualified heritage professional(s) to undertake Phase 2 Survey of the Heritage of Holy Wells in County Mayo. This project is part funded by the Heritage Council. The primary objectives of this project are:- To undertake an audit of the holy wells in County Mayo and to promote awareness, knowledge and understanding of this cultural and built heritage resource- To survey the wells which were not surveyed in 2022 during Phase 1 of the project (ca. 75 wells)- Promote heritage best practice in relation to researching and undertaking works relating to this important heritage resource.
