This was a re-procurement to replace Infrastructure Storage Hardware which had been classed as end of life. The current Infrastructure Storage requirement was obtained via a competitive tender by SLC reference 2019-SLC-032. The hardware supplied was manufactured by IBM.
As the SLC estate currently has IBM equipment throughout to move away from this manufacturer would take both a vast investment both time and money. Therefore, for technical and financial reasons, the
equipment specification required continue with IBM.
