Installation of a Solar Platform Steel framework – SHED, Margam

The works are to be undertaken within the Specific Solar Heat Energy Demonstrator building located in Margam, Port Talbot.The work is required to provide a steel solar platform framework to which solar panels can be fixed for the purposes of research being carried out within the facility.The works are located on the southern elevation of the building within the soft verge.The main construction works will be undertaken within a live working environment and ongoing consultation with the client and building users will be critical to scheme successAll works will need to meet all statutory compliance requirementsWorks to be undertaken by the main contractor and team will be, but not limited to, groundworks, steel framework erection, access ladder to both floors (step off left to both levels) on left side of framework, a Kee Klamp type guard rail to have a removable section to the right hand end of the framework to enable a platform mounted cradle lift to lift materials for solar platform setup. Each Kee Klamp foot should be toe board install type for ease of toe board installation.All works should be capable of withstanding the local marine environment.Further information is available within the technical specification documents.
