ITT22-005 - Acoustic recievers and acoustic fish tags
Descriptions
The Marine Institute, a semi State body, wishes to invite tenders for the supply of acoustic fish tags and compatible acoustic recievers for a duration of 2 years (2022 and 2024).At present a requirement exists for supply of fish tags and associated and compatible acoustic recievers for research on distribution, migration and habitat use of elasmobranch fish in 1 Lot. Acoustic recievers should be of two types or suitable for two types of deployment. The recievers should be compatible with Vemco 69kHz tag series1.Fixed deployment on seabed and should include and be provided witha.integrated acoustic release devices for recoveryb.A tracking receiver at the surface to trigger the acoustic releasec.Be deployed and operational for a number of months2.For deployment on seabed or fishing gears or other mobile structures without integrated acoustic releaseAcoustic tags supplied should be 1.compatible with Vemco recievers. 2.suitable for tagging of large bodied marine fish such as Skate, Pollack and Seabass as well as smaller juvenile fish e.g. salmon smolts.3.Tags with and without pressure, temperature sensors are required4.Battery life should extend to years and be suitable to track fish that may undertake significant migration and be detected by acoustic arrays in disparate locations.
