Leicester City Public Electric Vehicle Charging Programme

The City Council is looking for supplier(s) for suitable electric vehicle charging infrastructure for residents and visitors to the City. We wish to increase the number and variety of charging options in the City in line with our sustainability, air quality and climate change goals. The initial funding is from indicative LEVI allocation of capital funding and final Approvals - £3.38M The anticipated total estimated value - £9M-£10M The infrastructure will primarily be a mixture of charger types and power output, however the majority in the longer term will be lower power on-street residential chargers geographically well spread and available in all areas of the City as drivers adapt to battery electric vehicles. This will address challenges including space limitations, grid capacity and socio-economic diversity. A concession style contract will be used in several Lots so that suppliers can bid in line with their own specialities. We anticipate a phased approach to installation, including passive infrastructure The infrastructure will be installed, operated and maintained/upgraded if needed for the duration of the contract. All national guidelines must be made and followed for the installation and duration of the contract. Suppliers will be expected to manage any existing charging infrastructure and update/upgrade, as necessary.
