Descriptions
Limerick Greenway is a 40km Greenway located along the former Limerick to Tralee Railway Line. It traverses West Limerick from the Kerry border, 3km North West of Abbeyfeale, through the three key market towns of Abbeyfeale, Newcastle West and Rathkeale. Limerick Greenway currently takes in the villages of Templeglantine and Ardagh, home of the Ardagh Chalice. The Barnagh Tunnel is located on Barnagh Hill, just off the N21 along the Abbeyfeale to Newcastle West section of the Greenway and close to the village of Templeglantine. Limerick Greenway also forms part of the EuroVelo 1 Route, which runs along the Western Coast of Europe from Scandinavia to Portugal. Limerick Greenway reopened to the public on the 1st of July 2021 and to date has welcomed over 800,000 visits. The overall objective for Limerick Greenway Marketing and Promotion is to leverage this high quality tourism amenity to grow local, domestic and international visitor numbers. The successful tenderer will develop a campaign concept and strategy and deliver and manage this campaign for Limerick Greenway during 2023.
