DCC and their project partners the Welsh Government propose the provision of Land-based Maintenance Dredging and Associated Works at Rhyl Harbour.Rhyl Harbour is near to the estuary of the River Clwyd where it outfalls to the sea at the west end of the town of Rhyl on the North Wales Coast.DCC are seeking Contractors with recent involvement and experience of land based dredging / earth moving in a Marine Environment, who run successful, compliant businesses in respect of earthworks materials removal and recycling, and have the capability, resources and facilities to•excavate and transport materials arising to other sites being run by DCC,•handle, store and re-sell sand and gravels materials arising not required by DCC for re-use, compliantly with all legislation, and•undertake maintenance services within the harbour incidental to and during the currency of the dredging services.DCC are committed to achieving sustainable development outcomes from all its activities. Consequently, the successful Contractor is required to take account of sustainable development e.g. environmental, social and economic impacts of delivery and to actively participate in the protection of the environment whilst building the social and economic regeneration of the community and surrounding areas.It is intended that a contract will be placed with the successful Contractor based upon the NEC3 Term Service Contract Option A Priced Contract with Price List, with Task Orders being issued for:•seasonal dredging with the arisings being transported to specified local DCC sites requiring fill,•seasonal dredging with the arisings becoming the property of the Contractor, who will then dispose of them•incidental maintenance works within the harbour associated with, or carried out in conjunction with, the above tasks, e.g. additional excavation works or maintenance to the harbour pontoons.Please note that this project is being undertaken using the Proactis electronic tendering system and as such no paper documentation will be issued.
