Greater Manchester Combined Authority, as the contracting authority for Greater Manchester Police (GMP), sought to create a framework agreement for delivery of services to maintain police firearms ranges; including deleading, annual deep cleans and repair or replacement of materials.The Authority is awarding framework status to a single supplier and police forces to are able to direct award a call-off contract which meets their own specification. The resulting framework is available for other police forces in the UK (listed at https://www.police.uk/forces/) to access.The successful provider is required to deliver cleaning services to the standards defined in the ‘Handbook of Police Range Safety, Volume 2’. The provider will also ensure full compliance with current Control of Lead at Work (CLAW) Regulations for all work undertaken within the ranges and the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005, regarding all waste disposals from the ranges.
