Major Voids and Structural Alterations Contract.

Descriptions

Major refurbishment works to void properties owned and managed by the Council including but not exclusive to; street properties, houses, flats and maisonettes within low and high rise residential developments, hostels and sheltered housing schemes.These works typically comprise but will not be limited to: replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, re-wires, boiler and heating system replacements, internal structural repairs / alterations, roofing repairs and replacements, replacement windows and doors, carpentry, joinery and decoration works. In addition, from time to time, the Council will raise orders for single/two storey extensions and/or loft conversions to selected existing propertiesThe contract will include some M&E design in relation to the detailing and circuiting of the mechanical and electrical installations and the contractor will need to demonstrate that he is competent to undertake this design or will use competent sub-contractors.Works will commence on or about early February 2015 and it is intended that the contract will end in February 2020 but may be subject to a first optional extension of two years extending the contract to February 2022 and a second optional extension of two years further extending the contract to February 2024.
