Market Exploration - Expresion of Interests - Garreglwyd Residential Home, Holyhead
Descriptions
Exploring the possible market for GarreglwydAs you may be aware the Isle of Anglesey County Council is considering future provision of services for social care and accommodation needs of older people. This is outlined within our Service Intentions document (http://www.anglesey.gov.uk/health-and-care/adult-services/older-adult-social-care-service-intentions/) in which we explain how we propose to provide an increased choice in a wider spectrum of community based care and accommodation provision. The Council has identified in its priority programme its intention to develop further extra care establishments for the Isle of Anglesey within partnership arrangements; such as Penucheldre in Holyhead. Yet the role of extra care or even residential is but one (albeit important) element within a wider spectrum of care and accommodation provision in which an increased programme of reablement, extra care and nursing provision need to be amongst the parts considered. Indeed, the provision of Nursing care is an area of need that we are actively exploring as we know that there will, across the whole island, be a considerably increased level of need for care for those who are living with conditions such as dementia.Officers are continuing to explore the needs on the island and within Cybi, and our priorities remain to ensure continuity of care and sustainability of service. We must also look to the future and work to provide the best possible care in the most effective way; as such a number of options for provision across the whole island are being considered, including Cybi. As a part of this consideration the Authority needs to look at the role of Garreglwyd, one of the residential care homes provided by the Council. To further explore one of our Options and in line with recognised need, we are enquiring as to whether there would be any interest in the market to acquire Garreglwyd, for sale/rent/leasing for the purposes of providing one of the following services:•Residential Care•Specialist Dementia Care•Nursing CareAt this stage there are no decisions and this is not an invitation to tender; we are merely sounding out the market. We should also make it clear that it is not decided whether any such opportunity (should it be so) would be for the building and the business, or just for the building and facilities. If you think that you might have a business interest in working with the Authority, please inform Carys Emyr Edwards, interim Head of Adult Services at the above address by March 14th 2014. You may also have questions that you wish to ask. Please be advised that questions asked, and the answers provided, will be shared with all those that express an interest.
