Contract is to purchase a system to support the evaluation of screeners for the early detection and treatment for infections such as HIV, hepatitis B and syphilis in pregnancy in order to significantly reduce the risk of vertical transmission of infection from the mother to the child. The Infectious Diseases in Pregnancy Screening (IDPS) programme, part of Public Health England, and has responsibility for implementing this policy in the NHS.
