Positive Behavioural Support Level 6/7 - Northumbria University - The County Durham Care Academy (CDCA) have been successful in securing funding through the local NHS to fund places for Independent Sector Provider staff working with people with learning disabilities to train in Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) This PBS programme has been developed in conjunction with Northumbria University and Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust.

It enables the development and assessment of practice-based proficiency for PBS specialists/leaders/managers identified in the PBS competency framework (PBS Coalition 2015). The pilot programme was successfully delivered last year, and approval has been granted to roll out the programme across the region.

The requirement for CDCA is for training of 8 people in the 2025/2026 programme £3,800 per person. £30,400 per annum This is a single supplier negotiation as it is a bespoke course which only delivered by one training provider
