Powys County Council on behalf of the Powys Regeneration Partnership welcomes expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to implement, manage and deliver a Sustainable Tourism Powys project under the Rural Development Plan.The Wales Rural Development Plan (RDP) is an European programme that is operational during the programming period - 2007 - 2013. There are 4 Axes of activity within the programme; with the Welsh Assembly Governement administering Axis 1 and 2 on a National basis, and local Partnerships implementing Axis 3 and 4 activites in their local area. Powys County Council on behalf of the Powys Regeneration Partnership have applied to the Welsh Assembly Governement for the following project under Axis 3 of the RDP.Sustainable Tourism Powys aims to improve the sustainability of the tourism industry in Powys, by increasing and raising the quality of facilities, improving accessibility of individual tourism products and improving the performance of tourism businesses & attractions. The aim is to better promote activities through digital new media, develop innovative green tourism, such as wildlife tourism and develop tourism businesses, in terms of marketing and ICT. The project will offer a range of services such as grants schemes and other support services.
