The equipment (PRIMO) is a bioengineering platform enabling scientists to build custom microenvironments for living cells. This technology is necessary to advance our ability to generate cell products for biomedical applications such as drug screening or cell replacement therapies. PRIMO can be used to understand how the cells respond to specific microenvironmental variables (stiffness, geometry, chemistry of the cell substrate) or to build cellular substrates that mimic the native environment of the cells.
