Provision of a New Primary School at Staynor Hall, Selby.

NYCC wishes to award a contract for the construction of Staynor Hall Primary School:Jacobs UK Ltd has been commissioned by NYCC Children and Young People's Services as lead consultant for the design of a new 235 place Primary School and associated infrastructure at Staynor Hall, Abbot's Road, Selby. Jacobs UK Ltd as part of their consultancy agreement with NYCC will provide full multi-disciplinary design services for the new building. The 2 hectare greenfield site is located in the centre of a new residential development adjacent the A63 arterial road on the outskirts of Selby.The single storey building has an L shaped footprint of approximately 1 700 m² gross floor area and will be constructed using a steel portal frame with brick/block and rendered external wall panels and a tiled roof. External windows and doors will be powder coated aluminium double glazed units. Natural daylighting is supplemented through the provision of patent glazed roof lights. Mechanical and Electrical services are to be simple with basic controls to complement the natural daylighting and ventilation strategies embodied in the design. Externally areas include permeable paving, tarmacadam roads and playgrounds together with habitat area and playing fields.More detailed information will be contained in the ITT documentation, which will subsequently be issued to qualified applicants.
